HELP!
OK, here is the situation, I'm a MAME32 user and a bit of a n00b so spell things out for me if you have to, please!
I'm attempting to build a Vector MAME machine as seen here: http://tinyurl.com/5rk6d
It only works in DOS so I'm having a few problems/questions.
1. How can I use the newest version of MAME as there has been some updates to Vector games recently and added ones.
2. I've gone to MAME.net and looked in the d/l section but there is no link for DOS MAME .94.
3. Is there a way to just get a version of DOS MAME .94 with only vector game drivers to reduce install space?
4. Can anyone out there write a new front end (easy to use and install) for DOS MAME on a vector monitor?
5. Can anyone write windows drivers to use the ZVG on windows versions of MAME? (the creator of the ZVG is working on this, but he doesn't know how to write drivers for windows yet so it may take him a very long time).
Thanks to anyone in advance for any help!

You can't. VectorMame is specially written to use the ZVG. I know they plan to release a new version sometime, but I don't know when. You might want to contact them about that.

It's not out. They haven't released a DOS version since .90 or so.
3. Is there a way to just get a version of DOS MAME .94 with only vector game drivers to reduce install space?
See above. It would be a moot point anyway, since it won't work with the ZVG.
4. Can anyone out there write a new front end (easy to use and install) for DOS MAME on a vector monitor?
Doesn't it already come with a front end?
5. Can anyone write windows drivers to use the ZVG on windows versions of MAME? (the creator of the ZVG is working on this, but he doesn't know how to write drivers for windows yet so it may take him a very long time).
Is the source code available? That would be the first hurdle.

You can't.

QB-3 as well as updates to sounds and sound samples.

Newest version of dos mame can be found here
http://mirrors.xmission.com/mame/main/mame091b_dos_i686.zip
You cant compile the newest .94 version yet becuase they haven't released the dos source code. I cant even find the .91 dos source code. As far as a front end goes it should work with any version of mame you would just need to add any new games to the front end config files. I have been running the same front end version since mame .7 something.
Cant help you with the vector stuff though sorry.

Yeah have fun with dos you can read my thread here.

It mainly about getting dos mame to load quicker. When I started it was at like 3-4 minutes. I've gotten it down to just over 1 minute now but I would Ideally like to make it ~30 seconds.
Oh and one more thing that link I posted is optimized for Pentium chips so if your computer runs something different you need the regular version.
Here is the regular version

I'm not sure what's been happening with the regular DOS build, but you can get DOS AdvanceMame (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=33717&package_id=25823) in .92 (good for all you GTG freaks out there) and .94 flavours.
