Either way ... Goooood luck. You'll need it! ;)
-
the side art looks beautiful.

Dude, that's the 25 incher, and only the black is scratched. Restore, no brainer! Where are you located? I'd like to buy that cab!
-
Iagree, clean it really good and touch up the black and you will be in business.
-
just as a little helper, a smash tv marquee is up on ebay...nos.

30 bucks + 12 shipping is a little steep though. i guess you could just consider it an investment if you ever plan on selling your complete, dedicated cabinet.

Whatever you design will not be as nice as that Smash TV side art. Keep it!
-
I also have a Smash TV control panel. It has a Gun game overlay (something about invaders) and 3 tiny holes where they mounted the gun holsters. Given an overlay it would be cake to make the panel back to Smash TV, just drill the joystick holes back out and slap some wood putty in the teeny holes from the gun holsters.
-
I agree you should keep that art in tact.
-
*shakes fist* keep the side art, capice?
-
Keep the side art or sell the cab to someone who will. I would love to have a Smash TV dedicated cab.
-
Looks good enough to save to me too, though I don't think I'd want a big picture of a dude with no shirt on in my game room. :)

That is my all time favorite arcade game.
If you hurt that cabinet in any way, I swear I will hunt you down and kill you.
But seriously, I hope you don't plan to MAME it.
I've seen restored 25" Smash TV machines sell for $1000
Restore it or sell it to someone who will. There are lots of generic "street fighter 2" type cabinets out there just dying to be MAMEd.

 Those were my same thoughts.

There's a quick fix for that.
Make a trip to Wal-Mart, pick up a couple of posters of women in bathing suits, slap the posters on the side of the cab, and you're done.

They are cheap in the UK.

I think i'll keep the side art, and i am hopring to run Konami Hypersports in it, if I can get the PCB.

Are you guys really saying your scared to have a cab with a muscle bound guy on it , thats alittle crazy , its an arcade cab not your sexual preference. :P
-
If you plan on re-doing the control panel, don't cut up the original, just use it as a template for making a new one.

Are you really saying you'd rather look at the Smash TV guys than models in swimsuits?
THAT is ALOT crazy--well, unless you're a girl...which I don't THINK you are, based on your nick.
