Title: What is the best video card?

What is the best video card for mame and nes,snes and sega emus on a dos based machine can i use tv out on the cards? im new to the scene but have had arcades for bout a year just want to run alot of games ya know. thanx for the info

Any ati card will give you great tv out.

TV-Out won't work in DOS mode.  You have to boot into Windows to get it to come up on your monitor.  Check out my latest post in the "Windows on Arcade Monitor" thread for better ideas.

Well, no. You enable/disable TV- out from Windows, but once it is enabled (default setting I think), it boots up on the TV just fine. I can perfectly see the Award BIOS message on my TV while the PC boots, way before loading any OS. I've used ATI Xpert@Play and ATI Radeon. Both work like that. I use DOS mame and never have to go to Win95 to do TV out. I stay right in DOS.

Hmmm... I didn't know that.  Thanks for the info.  I never tried it myself, since I use a J-Pac for the video amplifier circuitry as my "converter".  But I had read many threads from folks who could never get TV-OUT to work in DOS.
