appologies if they didn't.

*UPDATE*
Thought I would ask the seller the question and this was the response. so I guess if this is accurate then no harm, no foul.
Question asked.
What are you printing these on? 280gsm type paper or something more similar to the original plastic material? What would be the charge for reproducing a custom supplied file? also i presume you have gotten permission to reproduce these for profit from those that uploaded them to the arcade artwork library? cheers"
REPLY
Hello, These are printed on material similar to the original plastic type - we can't tell you the exact material as the manufacturer of these has spent a lot of time and money making sure they are as close to the original quality as possible. These marquees are really superb and you won't be disappointed - guaranteed! We can do any custom design you require - within reason!! The charge for custom work would be

Mahuti?

As for the permission question - yes no problem - 100% Legal.
Somehow I doubt that.

Heh, I wish I was profiting from that site. Since I don't charge, and don't have paid advertisements (the ad for Mamemarquees is actually a free ad I created for them as a "thanks" for their excellent service to our community) I'm technically losing lots of money on that site.
I have a business that I make money at, that site is strictly a hobby that costs a lot. I won't ever attempt to make money off of it by leveraging the art from it individually, selling the contents in bulk, or auctioning.
I DO accept hosting donations. In the case that I ever PROFIT from those donations (fat chance) I plan to spend that money on marquees, etc for tracing. Donations are so rare, though, that I guarantee this will never happen.

Some of Tbombaci's stuff has been seen in auctions.
-
Oh yeah, and the explosion graphic (made by Prok?) that says Arcade Classics (added by Peale) has been on multiple cabs at every Superauction lately (in Mesquite).
-
There's nothing I can do about it really. Like Nannuu said... if you don't wanna see it at auction, don't upload it. If you get hurt by someone else making money off of your efforts... just think about how all of the Manufacturers feel.
I personally, would take it as a compliment.
OH, and as for asking permission from the AAL to print stuff... I don't have the authority to grant those permissions to anyone.

He is providing printing service thats it.You guys bitching about this is like blaming kinkos for printing anything from artwork library. Its not like he is selling just the vector file. And whoever vectorized it doesnt really "own" the art anyway.

And whoever vectorized it doesnt really "own" the art anyway.
The point I was trying to make.
-
I was just wondering if this guy has "asked". I figured not.
-
I try to look at it as helping the arcade community whether someone is profiting or not. If we do art and it is used to restore or just to make cabinets nicer, then we've helped someone. Especially the young ones that so need to play the classics on a real cabinet. Besides, if I wanted to make money printing, I'd open my own printing service. It's a business to them and there is a perfectly free resource for art right there.

you should also consider this point did WE ask before tracing something and spreading it freely ?

exactly.
-
Exactly.
You can get it for free. Why charge? We trace stuff and say: if you own this and don't want it here, we'll take it down. That's respectful IMO.
If this guy said: you can download this for free or save time and buy it from me, that woul be respectful IMO.
Implying you have absolute authority to sell them... that's another story...

Great! Now I'm not unique anymore. >:(

Technically, our files are an artist's rendition of the original art. That's technically, of course. However meticulous we may be, the art we upload is not a 100% reproduction.
Close enough though.

Exactly, Zorg's answer was better.

Actually, ROM did the explosion graphic.
-
Oh yeah, Rom. I knew it was a short name with an R and an O!

Actually, ROM did the explosion graphic.
But Namco still owns pacman on the exploding circles ;)

I knew there was a donation I still needed to make....DONE
