Hello...I started my project about 2 and a half months ago and I have been working on the artwork ever since. I know photoshop pretty good but I am very lacking when it comes to illustrator. The image below is my CPO and to create the Taborious iamge and effect I have to have it at a low resolution and size or the effect doesn't come out right. I was thinking if I could vector it or even just create it in illustrator I could enlarge without distorting it so much. SO, anyone out there that can give me some instructions on how to vectorize my image or create it with the same affect in illustrator?
The effect in photoshop is just text merged with a black background. poloraize coords, rotate image 90C, apply winds from both sides a couple times, rotate 90CC, and polarize the other way. this gives me the outstrikes from the text. Then just put a copy of the original text over the top, add some hue and other effects and viola...
Or does someone have any suggestions for photoshop? The CP image is 34x20 @ 300 dpi and the Taborious effect is done at 1.5in x .5in @ 72dpi so you can see why it dostorts so much.

This isn't a good candidate for turning into vector stuff in illustrator. I do have another method that will probably work better than what you are describing in Photoshop, however, that will allow you to have a high-res image with a similar effect.
I'll give it a test and get back to you tomorrow.

OK, this thread is getting old and hasn't had much feedback. Meaning one fo two things. No one cares, in which case I'm on my own or no one has any suggestions for me.
Though I'd try to put it up on the list again so it gets a look again. If I haven't heard anything after this then I'll let it die and make do. Just thought I'd give it another shot on the forum.
Just looking for a way to replicate this effect in illustrator or something else I can draw on in photoshop without blurring the image so much when I have to stretch it...

Can you post your photoshop file somewhere for me to play with?

Mahuti,
thanks just checking, hadn't heard anything in awhile. The problem that I am running into is I know how to use photoshop at about a novice level. So I search the web for tutorials and if I find an effect I like I try to apply it. However, the tutorials are not at the scale that I am working with and the effect tools don't apply the same on a larger scale so I can get the same effect. Don't know if the BYOAC or yourself has any tips or suggestions for large scale effects for CPO and Marquee work...
