i just look at the advancemame. It is quite differnt then simple dmame.
I tried to run advmame Dos version, actually i jumped from dmame to advmame to get an arcade video compatiblity. In the biggining i can't directly configure advmame for any arcade monitor,i must first chek it
on my pc monitor then i will go for an arcade monitor.
can anyone tell me what specific lines to be add in advmame.rc to get it work with my 19" pc monitor.
what are the commands for advmame in dos.(to check gamelist etc)
for example : in dmame C:\dmame -listfull
= = -createconfig
help to configure video modes for my pc monitor advmame.rc
thanx in advance.

better use the advv/advcfg for your video modes.
Advmame does not have -listfull/-listclones/-gamelist etc..as a parameter. Just type advmame -default to make advmame.rc but it won't include any video modes. use advscan for verifying/listing/etc...for the ROMS.

thenesty,i got some of these values in advmame.rc after running ADVV.
device_video_pclock 10-130
device_video_hclock 30.5-60
device_video_vclock 55-130
When i check these modes they are best fit to my monitor in ADVV.
some of the other lower resolution modes can be brought in advmame.rc but they are not fit to my monitor screen.
device_video_modeline 1280x1024 0 1280 1280 1280 1280 1024 1024 1024 1024 +hsync +vsync
device_video_modeline 1024x768 0 1024 1024 1024 1024 768 768 768 768 +hsync +vsync
device_video_modeline 800x600 0 800 800 800 800 600 600 600 600 +hsync +vsync
device_video_modeline 640x480 0 640 640 640 640 480 480 480 480 +hsync +vsync
i run a game in advmame it shows an error
THE SPECIFIED 'display_mode standard_640x480' does not exist.

Is it confirm?

does it exist in the RC file ? it sounds like you did not save it. make sure when you check it with advv, first you need to select the mode (space bar) then hit ENTER to check the settings, then set it (center, strecth etc..) then hit ENTER then F2 to save. Once this is done and you exited the program, edit the RC file and it should be in there.
BTW how many display modes i need ? I will try as many as possible.
after completing this way how to produce this line?
device_video_format ?
display_mode standard_640x480 (It is in advmame.rc)
it exists.

Yes look in your carddos.txt file. It has a list of all supported video cards/chipsets.

thanx dabone,it is the very first time any one tell me about video card compatiblity, while i had done a fake struggle to configure advmame on intel chipset. :)

I get a MATROX MGA MILLINIUM 4MB VGA card from a friend to check advmame.
this is the very first time i run advance mame.
Once i run ADVCFG to get the device_video_format in advmame.cfg, .
I have got three problems.
1)Every time i saw (green color)vertical lines on the screen.
2)I run advmame on DOS and run a game (Cawing)it was fit to screen
but still contains those green vertical lines. When i do some changes
in the advmame options and change color settings to 32 then there
were no vertical lines on the screen, while the picture was looking
very blur.
3)Many games Speacially neogeo games those are best fit in dmame
on my PC monitor, they are giving here irritating results.
these neogeo and some other games are running on short screen
with a 58HZ refresh rate which is not supported by my monitor.
What ADVV utility do?
do we need "device_video_modelines"in advmame.rc?
thanx in advance.
