I've got a silverline jamma cab that I had to take the original 19" arcade monitor out of. I want to maximise screen size and figure that a decased 21" PC monitor should be roughly the same size.
Has anyone managed to fit a 21" PC monitor in their jamma cab and get the back on ok? I'm guessing most 19" jamma cabs are roughly the same size.
Also, when decasing a PC monitor does the tube extend all the way back to the plastic casing? (In which case I can just measure the monitor cos it's the depth that seems most likely not to fit.)
Thanks

I can't say what will fit in your cab, but I can say that almost all modern pc monitors have a metal cage that surrounds the tube, just under the plastic casing, and yes, the tube (or the electronics it's conected to) extends back all the way.

Speaking of the metal cage surrounding a monitor chassis, when I replaced the WG in my Gauntlet cab, I used a 21" NEC and had to leave the back of the cabinet open so I didnt crush the cage. It was a bit of a pain since the cab wouldnt butt up against the wall completely. It stuck out about 1-2 inches, but if I remember if I removed that cage, the chassis would be exposed. Not the best thing to have.
