Is it possible to connect the Beatmania IIDX Controller (Konami) for the PS2 via an USB
converter to the pc? And does the controller work with MAME? Any experiences?
-
I've heard that it does, but I've been too lazy to reinstall the MAME versions of Beatmania. :-\

Hi Kujina,
do you mean "yes" it does work? Have you tested it ? And with which adapter did you try it?
-
yeah it works, i use it. although the MAME styles out right now suck anyway i just play ps2 with it mainly. i have a EMS2 usb converter, you just map the buttons as if you were doing joystick controls

Thanks for all your replies!!

I suggest you get the PS2 games instead, because there is a slight input lag when using keyboard or joystick on MAME, as such is the nature of emulators, which escalates into major problems when tapping combos on games that require precise input such as music games. What would be 'Great' on arcade displays as 'Good' on MAME, for instance. The PS2 versions however, aren't emulated versions of the games, they're arcade perfect, so no lag whatsoever, no matter how few the milliseconds
Whenever I goto the arcade to play beatmania, I have to readjust my play because I get so used to tapping the notes early on MAME to achieve greats..
