sa stated on my WIP, I'm tracing the puckman bezel, it's 90 % done. (see img above) but I have some trouble with the "EXCITING" part,the source file I'm using have a lot of bluriness on this part, the red hallo is realy difficult to reproduce corrrectly due to beeing damaged. could someone point me to some HiRes pics of this specific part.

I have this one, nut it seem's that the red hallo around the exciting word, is more rich and complicated than it appears on the bezel you point.

puckman.net seems to have plenty of photos and scans of puckman stuff.

the one on Puckman.net looks exactly like the one he got from AAL.... upon close inspection, it looks like it's been taped and a bit faded.... I was thinking that the one I found on Mame.net looked a bit more "complete"....

yes some part of the bezel on mame.net is better than the one in AAL, but definitively, the EXCITING part on mame.net is not accurate. if you check the bezel on AAL you will notice, that the yellow letters are suronded by a white hallo that give relief to the word. (see bellow) the mame.net bezel is missing this effect.
I'm still looking for some good qual pics of this effect.

Because sometimes that "effect" as you call it was not intentional, but a result of the different paint/ink layers being mis-aligned during the print process. (So for example, the reds would be "printed" first, then the yellows, etc). Since the different parts of the print get done seperately, it was easy for them to get mis-aligned.
I know this, one of my friend started working using films and exacto knife in order to prepare those "one color" layer ;)
I'm positive this is the case here (mis-alignment) because look at the "E" and you can see a darker red above the "arms" of the E where the red printed on top of the yellow by the same amount of offset as the white below.
So I think you'll find that different PuckMan marquees will show different amounts of this "error", with the correctly aligned ones showing next to none.
OK as most of you tends to think this is some printing glitches, I'll up he bezel respecting the one from mame.net.
but I still conviced that this one is incorect. just a feeling, but I share it with myself ;)
expect the bezel on AAL into a few minutes.
