"dot pitch" is how big each dot on the screen is. If the dots are too big, they fuzz over each other. If the dot are too small, the color might be too dark or you might see space between the dots. However, other stuff like sharpness, brightness, screen size, and resolution also effect how good a given dot pitch size looks.
You need low dot pitch for high resolutions or "mid-size" monitors for windows works (~.20-.26 for 1600x1200 @ 19-20" monitor is good dot pitch now). Arcade monitors run at lower resolutions, so your large dot pitch might be fine, especially if the monitor is large, too. It will look really bad if you run windows @ 800x600 or if the monitor is small.

The true definition of dot pitch is the space between the dots. Not the size of the dots itself.

Thanks Dink & Lilwolf. I always mix "dot" and "pixel" even though I should know they're different. :-\
