i read the only other post i could find about metal slug vector artwork, and it seemed like the discussion petered out, so here's another go...
i'd really love to have a load of metal slug art vectorized if someone would do it, since i've tried this vector stuff out and could never make it work. i've heard people can just have the comp automatically trace it and make pretty good vector stuff, so i was wondering if anyone would love to vector some metal slug artwork for me. thanks in advance.

don't rely on autotracing.
autotrace could be used on really well delimited colors raster files. but it's not reliable at all on the major part, and will need more tweaking and editing than from scratch tracing.
for vector tracing, try to start with easy characters it's all a mater of positioning the correct "tangent" to the part you want to trace.
the frostillicus tutorial (http://www.localarcade.com/4images/details.php?image_id=223&mode=search) is one of the best starting point if you want to try.
before going to trace Metal Slug art, that are pretty complex I suggest trying to trace some easiest art, eg the Puckman marquee, Road Runner marquee (this one have some color gradient that will present small difficulties, but the tracing is easy), the SpaceAce marquee, or some individual characters taken from flyers or any other good source.
just try to start with easy parts. few colors, few path and smooth curves. you'll see that vector tracing is not hard, just time consuming. ;)
NB 2 years ago I did not even know what vector art was.

well i'd love to learn, and i probably will, but not nearly fast enough, so i was wondering if someone could just do one vector image for me for now? i've got some plans for it...
here it is...

I've got some Metal Slug box art and flyers that are in PDF form so the artwork is scalable without image loss. They are large files. Is there a particular MSLUG ver you might want art from?

thanks guys for all the info.
gozur, i'd love to look through it all to see if there was anything that really peaked my interest. i'm looking for art from any version since i'm thinking of making my theme metal slug and not any specific version...so if theres some way i can look it all over that would be great.

I'll upload what I have to a host (hopefully tonight) and get back to you.

well, i'm bumping this not only so more people will see it, but because i'm trying to remind gozur about the metal slug pdf files he said he might host soon...
as always, i'd love some help if anyone wants to, or any opinions...

PM is the best way to remind me. ;D
I'm at work, I'll see if I can squeeze some of it up before the bandwith cops come knocking at my door.

once again don't rely on autotracing, it just provides a big piece of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. except for a very rare few cases.
furthermore the pics above are to mch complex for autotracing. too many colors shades.
as suggested by TalkingOctopus, give a try to the vector tutorial, starting with easy graphs.

I started on that file but I don't have anywhere to post the PDFs. I can't figure out how to export a JPG either.
