I was planning on putting a dreamcast in my cab for NFL Blitz, NBA Showtime, and fighter games, i know that the hacked pads dont have the analog stick hacked, but for fighters you dont need it, do you need it for NFL BLITZ or NBA Showtime? Can you use just the directional pad for these games?

Most of the DC sports titles use the analog stick only for movement. My guess is this is true for both blitz and showtime as the original cabs used 49-way sticks. I don't know if the d-pad will also work though....but it won't be the same gameplay since you can't control your speed.

Both Blitz and Showtime work with no problems using the directional pad. Hacked pads can also have the analog joystick hacked, but I believe the D pad works for any game that can be played in an arcade cab.

is putting analog sticks in as easy as the dpad? .... just pull it apart and hook the wires together or is there more to it?
-
Actually you just have to solder a wire to the top left pins of the HED1 through HED4 hall sensors. That's it. That will get you the analog inputs, and they are grounded with the common ground to create a direction.

the only problem is the price i guess, $120+ Is that right or is there some cheaper ones somewhere

I don't know if you will be able to interface those joysticks with a DC pad. If you were to send me one of those I would try it though ;)
