Title: Rear projection Mitsubishi 50" Arcade monitor for Sega
Post by: krism on December 26, 2004, 09:14:31 pm
???  I have a 50" PTV  Mitsubishi  Model VS50-SE1 (Sega Super G SKI Arcade game) that has fair resolution, the red does not seem to adjust, the screen is narrower on the left, and has a shadow on the lettering.  The second test screen (grid) does not seem to line up.  I have adjusted the convergence setting with some improvement, but can not get the shadow to go away or improve the colors (red hue to the snow).  Anyone have an idea as to what is wrong?  The machine may have been battered around, but seems to work well with everything else.  Is there a manual to adjust Mitsubishi screens other than the convergence?  I am fairly inclined, but have no clue as to rear projection monitor's/TV's.  What the heck is a flyback?

You may need to call in a pro to have this serviced.  I have one, they're notoriously touchy about gun alignment.  Any good TV service shop should be able to get that sucker back to normal operation for a couple hundred bucks.  It likely also need some new caps and to have the screen taken off/lenses cleaned.
