Title: Need help identifying a set of wires
Post by: Popcorrin on November 25, 2004, 12:15:26 am
I recently decased a pc monitor and I noticed a flat band of wires surrounding the monitor.  It almost looked like a miniature ide cable and both ends of this cable hooked to a pcb board.  It's on a 21" mitsubushi svga monitor.   I have decased pc monitors in the past and have never seen a wire like this.  Usually the only wire surrounding the monitor is the degaussing cable.

I guess the main thing I would like to know is what this cable does and if I can remove it.
Thanks

If it's connected to something I certainly would NOT remove it.

The problem is with the monitor decased there is nothing to hold it in place as it was glued to the front plastic piece.  I guess I could hot glue it to the tube if it's not a good idea to remove it.

Sounds like the monitor adjustment board.  Like Ken said, I wouldn't remove it!
