Title: My new/old cabinet
Post by: turboc on November 19, 2004, 09:36:47 pm
My cabinet has been a work in progress for a couple of years.  It's a scratch built, Defender style cabinet that has been modified several times.  I spent a lot of time in arcades during the mid 80's, and setup the controls so I could play all my favorites from that time.  The 17" monitor is a bit smallish, but is was free and works well.  Let me know what you think.

It's a slightly modified side art that I got from the Arcade Art Library at http://localarcade.com/arcade_art/ (http://localarcade.com/arcade_art/).  It was printed with a DesignJet on mylar film, then sprayed with clear acrylic.

Very nice! The monitor does look small but who can beat free! Plus you can always upgrade to a bigger monitor down the road. How did you get that awesome finish, paint???

It has one coat of primer and several of black semigloss exterior latex.  It's built out of MDF so that helps too.
