I would like to run the following:
MAME
NES emulator (probobly NESticle)
SNES emulator (probobly zSNES)
dos/winCAB Jukebox
and maybe a couple stand alone DOS games like Commander Keen, Cosmo and Raptor.
I will stay with DOS or Win98se w/o gui
Will be controlled from a hacked keyboard or Keywiz Eco 2.
Which Front End would be best suited for this? Looking for ease of use and ease of setup.
Thanks,
Cen5

I almost forgot I need it to handle Visual PinMAME / Visual Pinball also.

Why not try Kymaera? It is the newest DOS-compatible FE, and has plenty of nice features...

I know this is not an FE recommendation, but nesticle is old. Use Fce ultra or virtua nes instead - they are better emulators.

Didn't read this before but surely you'll need Windows to run those? Or is there a DOS version now?

Visual Pinball requires windows.
Make sure that each emulator your interested in will work well on your system on a command line before worrying about the frontend.

Also... saying "I want to run mame" is a litle vague. If you want to say, run pacman then dos is fine, but if you want to run killer instinct or mortal kombat then the hardware requirements are so great that you might as well run windows. Also I wouldn't reccomend 98, mostly because none of the developers run 98 as their test machine anymore and utilities, front-ends, and emulators are no longer guaranteed to run (or run well) with lesser versions of windows. As a matter of fact, newer emulators (chankast) won't run in anything other than xp. Xp is really the way to go if you intend on adding on int he future. As for those dos games, well that is what dosbox (the pc dos emulator) is for. :) There is no need to cripple your whole setup over those games.

I am mainly wanting to run older (prior to 1990) games. Not at all interested in later games.
