The one that broke the election to each county... but NOT based on who won but on the percentage bush/kerry?
I thought it was the best image to show how non-devided our country is (area->area that is).
I wanted to show it to someone, but the thread got locked (I believe)
UPDATE:
found it! thanks everyone

The one that showed how purple we are? I think that was Floyd.
-
MrC posted the "how purple are we" image
-
My question is, if we're really that purple, why did so many people vote against gay marriage?
-
Purple isn't really a good wedding color.
Probably something more in the peach or mauve range and it would have passed
-
Most democrates are against gay marriage.
Marriage laws have always been at the state level, never the federal level. Of course, this was originally because some states didn't recognise inter-racial marriages... But that has always been the problem.
btw, MOST people (7x%) are for some kind of civil union.
I personally think the government should only give out civil union licenses... And church's should give out marriage certificates. Thats where I see the difference.
-
See I'd be all for that if it started out that way, but it's too late. The government has already appropriated the term "marriage" for civil unions. I'd be fine with only giving gays the right to civil unions, as long as my wife and I only had a right to a civil union.

myspinzone (http://www.myspinzone.net/displayarticle1021.html) has the image I think you are thinking of...
I disagree with the conclusions people in the thread/post drew from it.
The stretch from Bush won, to the whole country is conservative...
It's a neat map though... I like the blue splotch at the bottom of texas...

Thanks Rampy!
there was also one by county in 'purple' I'm also looking for if anyone has it.
-
Rampy, that one's the one USA Today usually posts.
Lilwolf, click here for your "purple" one (http://www.princeton.edu/~rvdb/JAVA/election2004/)
