I cant speak for that controler but this one http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=237&products_id=5221& (http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=237&products_id=5221&) works well and I can vouch for its quality and similarity to the arcade. That other one looks cheap.

Spring for the IIDX one. It's worth a little extra.

My girlfriend has had one for almost 3 years and has beat the hell out of it and with regular cleanings it still works like a champ!

I don't think it works with the USB plug tho. Since my Beatmania ROMS never get past the RAM/ROM check I've never had reason to try.

LOL, you just have to wait it takes a while, press F10 to speed up the emulation.
The controller does work with through a usb converter because I use it like that, I dont even have a ps2.

.....I'm resurrecting an old topic.....as I just got a hold of a Beatmania IDX controller (7 keys).

Does anyone know if this would work with the Arcade Beatmania and a USB convertor (PS2 to USB).....in Mame

Just tried my IIDX controller hooked up through a Radioshack USB adapter and the results are as follows:

Turntable CW: Up
Turntable CCW: Down

Start: 10
Select: 9

BB1: 7
BB2: 8
BB3: 5

WB1: 4
WB2: 3
WB3: 2
WB4: Left

All the buttons register so I assume that it will work fine in MAME but there is the fact that the Turntable and the 4th white button are direction on the axis that may or may not screw with things...

PS, I tried to make the labeling as self explanatory as posible but if there's any confusion just let me know and I'll clarify.

IT WORKS PERFECTLY!

for the turntable...just assign player button "6" as spin the turntable away from you.....and player button "7" as the turntable toward you.

It works 100%!!!!

...the only problem is that I find some of the music to have static....but I have a feeling that's a result of my older PC rather than it being a problem with the game itself.

NICE!

I bought the really cheapy one long ago.  Don't buy it for PC use.  It is unresponsive and lags.

I don't like the mame beatmanias. They feel off and plus most of them are pretty old by now.
I like using bmdx3095 or MixWaver2, they are simfile players like Stepmania. Last time I checked you could find lots of sites with simfiles and the sites for these programs on the bemanistyle.com forum.
