Hello
I just logged into my hotmail account, and I noticed I now have 250mb of space. When did that happen? As I thought the hotmail was limited to 2 megs.
-
Sounds like they're trying to jump on the Gmail bandwagon.
PS. Does anyone know what a bandwagon is? I'm thinking of building my own, or setting up a site dedicated to BYOBW. Is building a bandwagon like blowing your own trumpet? The mind boggles...

They announced in the summer that they would be upgrading accounts to 250 MB (due to Yahoo's upgrade and the future release of Gmail). They have been upgrading accounts gradually, so not every account has the 250 MB yet, they say they are upgrading based on age of account and such, I have had mine since 96 I believe. I am still at 2 MB as of right now. I have since opened a gmail account due to the fact that my hotmail account is always approaching its crappy 2MB limit. I even sent and email to Hotmail a couple weeks back about how I was unhappy and have swiched to Gmail. Oh well, good to see some peoples accounts being upgraded, hopefully mine will soon.

Wish I had known about that BEFORE I deleted 1.7MB worth of mail that I've been saving for the last 9 years. I seriously just deleted it last week, I could've held out a bit longer. Oh well. I joined in 95 or 96, and I still have 2MB also.

7 year member, still at 2mb
-
I've been a member for 7 years and I have a 250mb account. ODD!
-
I have 250 for all my accounts but my kids accounts are still 2mb.
-
As I said, I just noticed my 250mb account today. I'm glad, as I won't have to delete my message as often.
-
My account is still 2mb, but I have been getting mails for a while about the change to 250mb. Can't wait!
-
250 mb here too. Too bad its got 4 megs of spam in it already. :(
-
I've noticed a couple of extra spam emails... but once I put them in the Junk Filter... I stop getting mail from them.
-
It's nice to see after they slowly decreased the mailbox size over the years that they finally up it. They delete 2 years of my mail when they dropped it down to the 2mb... still bitter about that.... oh well now I have 250mb
;)

Yay, now I have 250MB space! finally I can keep a decent amount of emails!
Does anyone know if the attachment size has increased at all??
-
Everyone continues to ask about the attachment size, and everyone's jazzed about a jump to 250 Mb.
I had hotmail, and it SUCKED! It took forever to load, tons of messages to others got filtered out because it was a Hotmail address, and I had to help them figure out their filters to allow my messages, it had a crappy size limit, they continually worked AGAINST a customer's wants (such as filtering junk, but you'd have to delete it, and it counted against your total space) and all the friggen SPAM from the Hotmail staff ("Just a friendly reminder that you're reaching your account limits...upgrade to this service that won't give you much more, and you'll have to pay, otherwise, screw getting any more mail")
GET A FRIGGEN GMAIL ADDRESS! 10 Mb attachments. 1000 Mb account (or a Gig, but I'm putting it in the "WOW, 250 Megs, neato" lingo) no spam yet from the Gmail people except to tell me how they are IMPROVING their service to SERVE ME BETTER, no filtering in friend's inbox that I know of yet, and it's free.
Are you using Firefox? There's an extension for it to check your Gmail account, just like all the POP3 checkers for hotmail.
Anyone have an account with Hotmail before they changed to .net accounts? About the same difficulty in learning/adjusting to Gmail.
For all of you bitter about losing valued e-mail, did Hotmail offer you alternatives? I bet they involved paying them money. Of all the things Microsoft makes money on, they chose to screw you over just to make a few bucks more a year. It's the reason I started looking for alternatives, and the reason I welcome Gmail.

What is this all about gmail ?

i agree with drew. hotmail blows chunks...
i use yahoo nowadays but i still check my hotmail from time to time. if people with 7 year old accounts still only have 2mb, then ill be waiting awhile at 5 years...
