My cabinet is nearly complete and right now I have MAME as well as Timeshock/Big Race USA Pinball. I'm thinking about adding a Dreamcast for a little more variety and I'm going to try getting Guilty Gear XX (PC version).
What games and which systems do you have in your cabinet? Do you play NES/SNES/N64 emulators on the cabinet? If so which games for those systems work well on the cabinet? Do you have a Dreamcast in your cabinet, if so which games? Which PC games do you have?
-
Integrated emulators
Daphne and Zinc
VPinball / vpinmame
Emulators without frontend support (ie, keyboard)
M2, VivaNannoNanno (don't think I'm actually using any others)
PC Games
Hydra
Guilty Gear X and XX
House of the Dead
N64 emulator (a few... not through a frontend yet...)
I have a dreamcast, and want to add it.. but haven't got around to hacking two controllers yet. I keep hoping I can find an x-arcade controller... But I should just do it sometime soon.

When using the computer in my cab, I mostly stick to MAME. However, I have the following emus:
NES (VirtuaNes):
Punch Out
Ninja Gaidens
Contras
SNES (zSnes):
Super Punch Out
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Super Contra
F Zero
Sega Genesis (Gens):
Streets of Rage
Road Rash
Sega Master System (Meka)
Atari (z26)
PSX (ePSXe):
Castlevania Symphony of the night
Then I have a dreamcast and a ps2 in my cab. I was an early adopter of the DC and I have nearly every game worth owning for it, although not all of them are suitable for arcade controls.
For PS2. I have:
Tekken 4
Tekken Tag
Guilty Gear X2
Soul Caliber 2
-
Other than MAME in my cab I have:
ZSNES
Gens
Winkawaks - just for the newer NEOGEO Games
VPinball

Magic Engine

NES - I forget the title of the emultator I'm using
U64 - for Killer Instict
PC Games:
Mortal Kombat 4
Demonstar & Demonstar secret missions
Juno Nemesis
RCT
GT Golf
NHL 2002 (can't get the controls setup quite right)

I have:

I don't have these fully set up properly yet tho, I'm kindof doing that atm.
I'd like to add my DC to my cab too, when I can be bothered to hack some pads and wire up a video switchbox...

VirtuaNES and ZSNES. I may add Zinc soon...
-
Wow, this list is building up quite nicely!
What is this "zinc" emulator? Doing a search on Google it says it's an arcade emulator based on Playstation (PSX) hardware...
That's all I could find about it. Is there a website with more information? Does this support entirely different ROMs than MAME or just run them faster (like Nebula I think?)
-
www.emuhype.com (http://www.emuhype.com) :) This is the homepage of Zinc. Checkout their forum, news section and the Zinc section.

I'd also like to add that I'm replaying the original Final Fantasy on my machine and it's a lot of fun. It's also helped me to get some ideas for a new control panel I'll be building. =) Good luck and have fun.

Other Emulators:
FCE Ultra, ZSNES, Project 64
Music (mamewah + winamp), Movies (mamewah + viplay (http://www.viplay.cjb.net)), and a few PC games (Armagetron, Stepmania, Duke Nukem - Manhattan Project, Neverball, and a some others shortly)

a side note here: remember when folks used to say "40gb is overkill for a mame cab!" ROFL yea right, having all these great emu's and games listed above really DOES take up room dont they? LOL Im so glad I opted for a 160gb, once you count all the pc games, emus, daphne, vpinmame, mp3's, and music vids, you just might seem to have enough room for an OS! And although you can score a cheapie cdrom drive for lie $10 nowadays, do yourself a favor and opt for the extra $20 and get those dvd-rom drives fellas! Worth every penny!
-
Not to get off topic, but can someone add a list of all the arcade to pc games out there they can think of, what i can think of off the top of my head are...
Golden Tee Golf
Nfl Blitz
MK4
House of the Dead
House of the Dead 2
Area 51
Im just wondering because i dont wanna miss any i might want.

MAMEWAH with NES, SNES, Game Boy and N64 emu's. Intend to add MS, MD, GG and possibly Saturn, DC and PSX emu's.
Not considering adding an actual console, all will be emu's. May add PC games in the future.
I find the attraction of a cab is the self-contained nature of it, and adding consoles and other bells and whistles seems excessive to me.
NIVO: 40GB IS overkill for a MAME Cab. An OS, all mame roms, music and screenshots, etc. make up about half that. Even with NES, SNES, etc. you still struggle to fill 40GB. It's when you add CD images that hard drive space becomes an issue.
-
For the size question, my games/emulator directory is about 21.5GB, with 16.6 devoted to "arcade". This includes emus/roms/front ends/utilities. However, that does not include my PC games.
As for emus, I mainly use
FCE Ultra (NES)
gensFE (Genesis)
ZSNESW (SNES)
Project64 (n64)
Visual Pinball
Mess (for atari2600, but looking at z26)
Zinc (for Street Fighter EX series & Strider2...hum, has MAME made any progress with these titles? BTW, Zinc actually uses your video card and 3d plugins, making for a better game over mame...it's not "pure emulation" if your into that...)
Also have Visual boy advance, chankast, epsxe, and stepmania, but I hardly use these.
Cab friendly emu's can be found here:
http://www.screenshotarchive.com/downloads_emus.htm (http://www.screenshotarchive.com/downloads_emus.htm)
Messing around with various jukebox progies to find a cool one...currently running Arcade Jukebox 8. DigitalJukeBox was also nice with more features.
PC Games I run:
Need For Speed Underground (I actually got pretty good using the joystick instead of a wheel...it works)
Armagetron (lightcycle)
GLtron (lightcycle)
DXBall2 (breakout)
Golden Tee Golf
Hamsterball (monkeyball)
LaserAge (shump, gallery)
Microsoft Pinball Arcade
MutantStorm (only the demo, but still awesome robotron game)
neverball (monkeyball)
neverputt (minigolf)
Ricochet Lost Worlds (breakout)
Star Monkey (shump)
Ultra Assault (shump)
Art is Dead (gun)
Some good PC games are listed here:
http://www.timoproductions.com/arcade/pcarcadegames.html (http://www.timoproductions.com/arcade/pcarcadegames.html)
which was born out of this PC game listing thread thread:

Game On!

Edit: and Platypus! howcould I forget Platypus!
Jukebox
I ripped most of my CDs and have about 18G worth of MP3s but I can't find a good (free/cheap) jukebox software that can be controled from my panel and still is able to let you sift through that many albums/artitst/songs... tried VMJ butit's buggy and PartyBox was cool but the author went AWOL before finishing the arcade controls support....
VisualBoy Advance

- visual pinball
- Microsoft Pinball Arcade tables with Howard's wrappers
- Balls Of Steel
-looking into timeshow to see if it'll work on my cab

thinking about adding

- daphne
- stepmania
-

heh i just had a thought ... hook a solenoid up to the num lock light on the kb controler , hehe fill it with pennies .. imagine putting 15 quarters in , finally hitting triple bar , and getting 250 pennies :-)

Other than MAME, my "Mame Machine" has Stella (Atari 2600) and the Arcade Jukebox 8. Not very many games on there for the Stella Program that load right using the control panel, but, it works great...
-
Stella
C64
Zinc
Daphne
Nes
Snes
N64
GBA
Sega Master
Sega Gens/32x/cd
Tigerwoods 2004/2005
Golden Tee
Stepmania
Virtua Tennis
NFL Blitz
As well, I have hooked up my PS2, Xbox, Dreamcast to my machine.
-
The Sega Dreamcast, and wireless cable modem adapter which is linked to my main computer downstairs. Great for updating MAME and adding ROM's. Plus I can make changes to the MAME machine by accessing the hdd from the computer at my desk.
-
a whole buncha crap to make ultrastyle work >:(
but... when i can get it working, it will be worth it :)
