I decided to test how durable CDs are, and put this together. Maybe I'll try more in the future, but this gave me a pretty good idea of how well my cds can get scratched before dying on me.

Somebody had some free time :)  Interesting read though.  

Have you ever seen the videos where they hook up a CD to a high RPM drill and they explode?  Discovery channel's Mythbusters show did that following some actually scientific trials.  Thats the basic reason why drive speeds max out around 52x...any faster and the plastic CDs just explode.  There are probably links floating around if you did a Google search for the topic.

Heh, I love Mythbusters (when is the new season starting?), but I must've missed that episode  :-\

Anyways, yeah, I just had a bit of fun doing that. Hmm..what else could I test...
