Here it is or here it is so far! This would be my first cabinet. Hopefully over the next few days I will have all the rest of the cutting completed. I will be doing the sides in formica as soon as I find a pattern I like. Since the cabinet can be moved to it's sides I will be cutting the T-molding slots hopefully tonight. It might have to wait since I can't find the bit for my router! So here are some pics remember I have little to no wood working skills so be nice! And I know wow wow my wife let me build it in the house! ;D

Sept 6 update
-
Well no picture but I found my router bit! So yes I routed the cab today! I also began the patch work so if all goes well I should be able and have the time to start painting next weekend! I have a pole over in the main forum for paint and the subject or name is " So wich is the best way to go" I am looking to go with oil primer and latex paint. Please vote and help me decide!

The are four L-brackets that go between your base and your sides (8 screws into the MDF). Are you also screwed into your base from the outside of your MDF? If you only have the L-Brackets right now, you're not going to support the weight of the cab. You look like you've done a good job, so I imagine you have more screws into the base from somewhere, but I thought I would ask anyway. Good luck.

Oh yes there are horizontal 2x4's right next to the two you see laying long front to back with like 10 to 15 screws going threw the 2x4 into the MDF. Basically from the inside out. Also glue but that only goes so far. Yes I have little to no wood working skills but I put alot of though into a stong support. I am also trying to keep the weight off the cabinet other than the small things like light, CP and speakers. Basically the major weight (TV) will be on the frame.
-
Well I got the TV shelf Level just got to get the 2x4 in the front to brace it in place. Got my routing all done! Wow what a mess! I also found I didn't like the seem for the keyboard drawer. So I put some half moon molding on the drawer and I think it covers it and makes it look much better!
-
I also got done most of the sanding and patch work! So what do you all think so far?
-
I'm not wild about the marble, but you're doing a great job on the cab. Keep up the work, you're making great progress!
-
To be honest the cp will be getting redone it is like 2 years old now. I lived in a 3rd floor apartment up until 4 months ago now I own a house so the cabinet can be built. Thinking about making the CP a part of the cab so it cannot be removed. Plus I might want a 4 player layout. Got lots of choices to make. Need more space for a trackball. Now an overlay has not been chosen yet for the new CP. I will keep everyone posted.
-
Well I have decided to go with a new CP! Con't get a spinner and trackball in this the way I want so I will keep you all posted on my progress. Unfortunitaly nothing on the cabinet to report from my last update. Family life has slowed me down. Alot going on right now. Next weekend I should have something.
UPDATE!!! I just got the primer so it looks like I will be busy!
-
And here we are primed and ready! Nice for one coat. I ended up going for a latex water based gray primer looks good and so far I am happy with my choice. One coat might do the job! Well here it is.

i gotta agree, marble is for countertops, not arcade controls..
but other than that it looks TIGHT! :D

The countertops in my home aren't marble but I understand what you mean. I am just starting my cp overlay just got to make sure I got the control layout the way I want it. Other than that sorry no construction updates for it has come to a stop. Hopefully next weekend I will be able to do some more work on it.
-
Well I will post a few picks later tonight as my cab is coming very close to being completed and on a different note with the CP yes I decided to get rid of the marble just haven't done it yet. Can get arount to it after the cab is up and running! :) So other than the Monitor/TV I am done! Got my speakers and grills in I am all painted got a temp marquee printed until I get to the print shop. So all and all I am happy!!!!!!! I used a Midnight run blue for the sides with a satin finish and it looks great. The t-molding gave me some crap as I left the slot cut into the MDF for months open to the air. :( Don't plan to do that again!
-
ok here are a few new pics as you can see I am close!
-
and a second
-
and the third for the day. Again let me say I am very happy with the look of the Midnight blue. As soon as I find my digital camera I will provide some better pics these are from the PC camera! :)

Thank's I am glad you all like how my cab is turning out. As far as the plans they are really just a mod version of Lusid's Arcade Flashback plans. Again TY and I should be up and running with the cabinet by Monday!

It is ALIVE!!!!!! Well I am at the end of the long road! (Two years) Thanks to all who have helped me during creation of my M.A.M.E cabinet. Really I just need some minor things a piece of smoked plexi, coin door, and a 4 player CP. None of that stop me from playing!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! Well I will post screen shots up later but for now here is a shot of the cab.
-
Sorry no screen shot picks yet but I did get the coin door yesturday and I just finished installing the track ball!!! Expect pic's soon!
