I am looking for 25" a arcade monitor that is at least med. resolution and preferably higher.
Wells has the 25 Inch K7500 Universal EGA Monitor. This is the absolute biggest monitor I can fit into my cabinet.
Anyone know of a high res 25" monitor?
And has anyone used or heard a review of the Wells K7500?
Would this monitor work ok for most of the MAME games?
Thanks in advance for answering my newb questions. :)

You could look into the Hantarex (http://www.hantarex.com/) Polostar monitor. It is available in 25inch and support 15/25/31/35/38kHz. It can display standard, medium and high resolution games.
Max resolution is 800x600 @ 60Hz. No need for an amplifier as you can connect a standard 15-pin Dsub (S)VGA connector directly.

Thanks, put in an email to them. The PDF file doesn't have a link, and there is no pricing. Don't ya' just love that? :)
I need to check the width of there monitor and make sure shipping doesn't run more than the monitor from the UK.

Just got a reply back from Hanatarex in England. The response as to weather they have a hi-res 25" game moniotr was:
"Sorry, The best we can offer is the Polostar (31 to 35kHz) or Polo VGA 31-38 Khz or Polo Standard 15-25khz."
I guess they don't have a monitor that crosses over. This seems strange but I guess they know what they are talking about.
Back to square one.
Does anyone here use a med res 25" or any other size med res monitor? Need to find out if it will work for my machine. It sems a med. res. will play most all MAME games won't it?
Will a med res monitor and ArcadeVGA card let me run a Windows front end?

Actually most games resolution is not med res, most are standard res. ArcadeVGA is not meant for med res monitors. If you want to use arcadevga get a standard res monitor. You can use a higer res arcade monitor in a similar way you would a computer monitor if you prefer.

Ok, so using a standard res 25" arcade monitor and an ArcadeVGA card is really all I need to play most games since the video card will help with adjusting the resolutions automatically?
Since the video card stretches the 15khz to 25khz automatically if needed it won't use the med. res. monitor anyway? Thanks, I think I am starting to get it!
Sorry for all the dumb questions. Brand new at this! ;D

Most games will display perfect to near perfect. For the 25Khz resolutions you will need to use hardware stretching. See ultimarc site for more info if that is the route you wish to choose. (good way to go especially for someone new)

One more dumb question. ???
With an WG7400 25" standard res. monitor, can the cable go directly from the monitor to the ArcadeVGA card on the PC or is a JPAC required even if it's not a JAMMA cab?
Thanks,
Craig
