Hello,
I am considering the xbox in the cabinet. But want some input whether it is going to be worth it. Can anyone please advise me on what games it would be good for and is it worth it? I will hook it up to the cabinet with regular controls and the Xbox vga adatper but I am uncetain if it is worth i to connect to panel. Costs approx $75 US to get 2 hacked pads.... not sure what do u guys think? who had xbox in their cabs?
thanks

Xbox games I would play in a cab:
Dead or Alive 3
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Capcom vs SNK 2
Soul Caliber 2
Guilty Gear X2 #Reload (not out yet)
If you like these games, go for it. Some of them are xbox live enabled and I think playing them over the internet on a cab could be fun. However, the dc is a cheaper alternative and has most of these titles even if they are one iteration behind (i.e. dead or alive 2, soul caliber, guilty gear x). The DC also probably has more cab friendly titles.

I love my xbox in my cabinet. Dont go with hacked joy pads. Go with an xarcade board because they support analog which allows you to play a ton of xbox games. Except the ones the require the to sticks for aiming. You can buy the board from xarcade if they have some availiable. Or I believe you can buy a single xarcade refurbished for real cheap and it comes with the same board as the double I believe BUT NOT 100% sure. Plus if you decide to put a comp or ps2 or gamecub it has support for thus systems to. Send an email to the company.
Also for the xbox with a little modification you dont have to reach in the cabinet to change games ;D
Xbox also has a mame emulator :o
Games I like
Sports titles (nba street, blitz, ncaa 2005, top spin, madden, etc)
Dead or alive
Mortal Kombat
Soul Calibur 2
Grand theft series
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Enter the Matrix
Pretty any non shooting game is playable

not to mention driving games for the driving cabs

This is a link to the pelican universal arcade joystick...
http://www.the-console-corner.com/pelican's_universal_arcade_stick.htm (http://www.the-console-corner.com/pelican's_universal_arcade_stick.htm)
This is a good pad to hack for multiple game sytems. PS1/PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube. It can switch between digital and analog joystick mode. It's a little tricky to solder some of the buttons(the small grouping in the center of the stick like start and back). Other than that its a great candidate. I picked up one at gamestop.

Ok About the X-arcade idea. It has all of the adapters and would make it very easy to use. and you say it supports analog? now 2 questions about this board you can get you have images? so you just wire up your own buttons etc to it?? can u explain.
What if I bought a x-arcade. can i add my own buttons? or take it appart and use the guts? can u pm and explain to me how its done etc..
I would appreciate it
thx

Took a picture of the bottom of the control panel just for you. Its on my site under mamebox. The xarcade uses real arcade buttons and joysticks so you just pull the connectors off the xarcade buttons and hook then up to your buttons. The only problem I ran into was half of the wires were to short because my cp is wider so I just made the wires longer(soldering). It is very easy. Run into any problems just let me know. I plan on running a extension cord from my xbox joystick port 3 and/or 4 and somehow run it so its in my coin door. That way I can hook up guns or ddr pad. If I do this will I run into any problems if my xarcade is hooked up to ports 1 and 2.
