Title: ( Vertical ) width coil.
Post by: Meet and Greet on July 24, 2004, 07:37:02 am
The width coil allows for additional horizontal adjustment over the regular pots. But is there a width coil for picture height or vertical screen position?

Monitor is WG 7000 series.

Width is adjusted by adjusting frequency, therefore horizontal is always a coil wrapped around a ferrite (iron) core.  All the other adjustments like vertical, brightness/contrast/color are just change in voltage, therefore they only need to be variable resistors (potentiometers/"pots").

That said, most monitors have pots.  However some models like the K4600 WG actually don't have pots but a few fixed positions with a couple resistors. I have never owned a K7000, but look for a wire soldered onto the board and then reattaching to the board in a row of 3 or 4 silver posts.  These should adjust width and position of vertical, at least they do on the 4600 series.

monitorguru , there are no extra adjustments or jumpers on the 7000 , just vert pos and vert size pots .
If you want one to play around with I have heaps of these spare and would be happy to pass one on , just let me know.
