Well, I haven't seen it yet, but I plan to. It looks like it has gotten a "fresh" rating on rotton tomatoes, so that should help us in our argument as to whether it's worth seeing or not. Still, I had high hopes for it from the beginning, despite the advertisements. Some family troubles has postponed my ability to go out and see it. I am sure that I will see it soon, so I'll post later. Cya.

Haven't seen it yet, but I've read a few real people reviews on other boards I visit. Most were surprisingly positive, from people that went expecting it to suck.

Watched it saturday--I enjoyed it! It had a whodunit feel for most of the movie as opposed to a CGI processing-fest where they just wanted to stuff as much CGI into a frame and be damned with the story. Will smith only does one of his screaming-fits-where-he's-killing-baddies-at-the-same-time as well which helped keep the movie a little less over the top. ;D
Just a note--I look for entertainment when I go to a movie--i don't go looking for oscar contenders.

If you've ever read any of Asimov's robot novels, go see this. You will recognize several of the characters and situations. It's really a sort of conglomeration of the novels I, Robot, The Caves of Steel, and Prelude to Foundation.. They're not strictly faithful to the books, but I don't think they were ever claiming to, either. It probably as close as you would ever get to a screen version of any of these books.

I have read the entire 5ish foundation books and I,robot and can say that they took some good parts of each and made a good movie. I liked it alot.

I just finished watching it and have to say... wow... good effects and not too far over the top. It had some good twists and turns and did a good job of answering the questions that you have while the movie is unraveling.
I'd give it a 8 out of 10

Sorry, but I thought it was so-so. The way it was done gave away too much...too predictable...like the whole stupid winking thing. the second "Sonny" asked about it, and the Director made a BIG point to let us all know it was important, I knew it was coming. Are we that retarded? Please.
Also, the movie seemed like it WISHED it was as good as Minority Report. "Maybe" if Spielberg did it, it would have ROCKED..but it was just so-so IMO.
6/10 at best. :P

finally saw it tonight. i read 'I, robot' when i was a children so i wasnt bothered that the movie really had not much to do with the book other than the three maxims.
i enjoyed it. it did have a 'minority report' feel about it which i liked more but this was still a good movie. I agree with menace, they handled the cg effects with maturity- not like those silly latter day star wars episodes (I, II and III i guess?) where the effects were actually less believable than the first movie made in the 70
