Of the MAME playable King of the Fighter games, which is the overall best one? Which is the King of the King of the Fighters?

The King of Fighters '94 (1994)
The King of Fighters '95 (1995)
The King of Fighters '96 (1996)
The King of Fighters '97 (1997)
The King of Fighters '98 - The Slugfest (1998)
The King of Fighters '99 - Millennium Battle (1999)
The King of Fighters 2000 (2000)

i like 2001 the best, its technicaly playable by MAME if you use an older version before they nerfed the 2k1 games.

out of those though, 2000 or 1999

I personally like 97 and 2000 the best of those.

My vote is for 96 and 99. In 2000 and 2001 they kept dropping characters that I like to play. A good resource with reviews of all the games is here:
