I have my ROMs on DVDs. The pc I want them on only has a cd rom drive.
One of the probs I have is copying all those roms over to my good pc. Is there an easier way other than selecting and copying? Seems everytime I try and do 10 or more at a time it locks the computer down. (BTW It is a AMD 3000+,512 RAm etc..)
Can I just load these on my good pc and file transfer over to my slow pc with 1 monitor? If so , HOW?

If oyu have a network card on each computer it's easy to transfer between them.

I do, but is there an easier way to get the ROMs off these DVDs? I can only copy maybe 5-10 at a time without locking it up. It took days to get around 1000 copied.

Easiest way would be to yank dvd drive out of the good computer, put it in the old one to copy, then put it back.
This will take you alot less time than any other solution.

It should certainly not be that difficult to do copy those files; try this:
Instead of drag/drop, open a command prompt and copy, say, all files that begin with 'N' and see how that goes. Something tells me the GUI is getting in the way.
If that fails, it is possible there's a read problem with the drive. It *will* read, but has to jump thru hoops to do so. I think that's clear?

And what are these?

flashfxp is a ftp client and serv-u is a ftp server. no, you don't need those.
Good suggestion by peale, take out the dvd drive and put it in the other computer.
Otherwise, howeve you get the roms off, at least on one of the computers, you can network the other two computers together and either use microsoft ile sharing or the built in ftp server in 2k/XP and IE to transfer files.
