Title: Tiny flicker problem

I have a cabinet, identical to the Super Neo 29 cabinet .. it has a 29" monitor, brand new. The cabs been factory converted for UK voltage (in fact I believe it's 220v to UKs 240v).

Theres a tiny amount of flicker in both the bottom left and right of the screen, just above the surround .. only a few mills .. also a tiny bit of green in the bottom left only .. otherwise it's perfect. I'm just wondering what this could be?

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the 220 as opposed to 240, or because it's been stood directly next to another cabinet?

I'd appreciate any ideas, thoughts  :)

The off-colurs are becuase the tube needs to be degaused - most new (and old) tubes come with a degausing coil built in which will operate every time it powers up. Check that the degause coil fuse is not blown. Sometimes you will need to degause the hard way as the built in coil is not strong enough.
A quick google search will tell you need to know about degausing arcade tubes, If you don't want to buy a degaus wand you can make your own from a dead monitor. Once again, instructions from google.


As for your flickering problem, what are you using to send signal to the monitor? Jpac, arcadeVGA, hacked cable?

I never bothered learning how the new board software works but here is a link all about degausing your CRT (including arcade monitor)

It's a standard Jamma cab .. so I've tried three Jamma boards, all the same. The monitor is 15khz 29".

Hi there ... thanks :) These are indeed the cabinets .. every one until now has been perfect, so I'm not sure what it could be, I'm going to remove the flourescent today and power it up to see if that's anything to do with it. The bulbs are powered from the main power line in the cab .. but that begs the question .. if it's this, why didn't it happen on any of the others? .. worth a go though.
