Title: NoName Mame problem: all games locked?
Post by: JoyMonkey on May 18, 2004, 06:28:27 am
I just updated NoName to the latest version, and now every game in the list is 'locked'. When I try and run a game it says "Please verfiy password to play this game". I've never seen this before. I deleted NoNameMame32XP.exe and tried the regbular NoNameMame32.exe, but it's doing the same thing.

Where did I screw up?

I had the same problem too.   According to their webboard, it was an accident.  The default password is mame32, which I got from one of their messages.

Now I have a problem with it never saving any of the settings I change, but I'm not sure if I'm missing something or it's a glitch.

Where do I enter the password? It doesn't give me a box and I can't find anything about it in the menus.

Go to OPTIONS --> PASSWORD and there you have the option of disabling the password (though you have to enter the default password) or changing it.

It will also ask you for a password if you try to unlock a game.

Yea, it was a mistake, I meant to have it disabled by default. The default password is "MAME32", I believe it is case-sensitive.
