Title: 3D Arcade Start Up Problem?
Post by: woodman on April 21, 2004, 08:15:58 pm
I am trying to run the 3D Arcade Front End and when I  start the program the screen goes black and I have to reboot.  Any ideas?  The hourglass cursor shows and I can move the cursor with the mouse...but that's all I get. ???

what is your vidcard? And does it support opengl correctly? By default the fe boots with the opengl renderer selected (in section 5a cfg\fe.cfg:prefrenderer|openGL| ).

peter is so nice... he doesn't have the heart to ask you straight out....

Does your system suck?  It won't run on super crappy systems.  ;)

Thanks for the info.  It is a Dell Precision 420 733 Mhz/PIII/256 MB/40 GB System.  I am running Windows 98 SE.  Should 3D Arcade run on that.  I am a Mac user and not very familiar with PC's.

It will run... but it might run slowly.  The main problem is that p.o.s. integrated dell video card.  You'll probably wanna pick up a better one.  No need to go crazy though, an old radeon 7500 should be fine for that system.
