Does any one remember a helicopter game (late 80's early 90's) where it starts in a downward facing view and you have to bomb stuff then it turns to a forward shooter and you shoot at oncoming helicopters. There was a sit down version and the joystick also moved the chair.
I know that this is quite vague but it is a start.

I remember a helicopter sit-down game that was so lifelike it had a lever you move to adjust the difficulty from regular to actual chopper pilot difficulty. had the collective and stick, with that banging- forcefeedback in the chair. It was in 3d, kind of like hard drivin', only in the sky :-\
Sorry I can't remember the game's name, but maybe that will help jog someone's memory if it's the same name.

Thanks, but I don't think that that's it.
It was before the real 3d thing started happening. I remember looking down on the copter from above and trying to hit stuff on the ground then from behind the copter and flying down city streets.
Too many arcade fumes made the brain soft. 8)
The controls were not force feedback. When you pulled the joystick to the right the whole contraption would move a little to the right and same with going to the left. It was mechanical not motor moved.
I wish I remembered more.

There was a laser disk game like that but i cant rember the name right now. I'll look on KLOV for it. Did the background graphics look real?

Nevermind about the laser disk game, thats not it. I think its Thunder Blade made by Sega in 1987

Thanks, I just checked klov and it does not have a screen shot. I then checked MAME and it does not seem to be emu'd yet. (I have an old version of mame at work). I am not sure if that is it or not. It was not at all photo realistic. I do remember it being quite pixalated even for back then.
I dont remember if you had to hit a number of things on the ground before it went to a forward shooter or not. You as the player had no control over when it changed.
