Hey guys,
I set up an FTP for us to use to share high-res scans & pictures of marquees, bezels, etc. I am in the process of upping about 1/2 gig of unfinished work & uncorrected scans.
I am already expecting it to get abused... if this happens, I will do what I can, perhaps open a hotline, carracho, or some other lame server for sharing, but I would prefer FTP access, so a few conditions for its use.
1. I'm not an ISP. My bandwidth isn't unlimited. Please feel free to upload anything you want, but please only download what you plan to trace immediately, and post that in the Vector WIP. These files are very large. I will not be able to keep this FTP open if people start hoarding.
2. Please, no shenanigans. Please don't share the password with someone who would use it for other than its intended purpose. This FTP is only for sharing unfinished arcade art. Anything else isn't cool.
3. I would suggest using something that can complete stalled uploads & downloads to make your transfers.
4. If you are interested in tracing, but don't know if you are up to tracing one of the files, please look at the cabinet on KLOV for artwork reference before downloading. Some can't be traced, and will just have to be made available as corrected raster artwork (you can de-moire, sharpen, and adjust color levels to correct most of these files)
Really, that's not too many conditions. Just use it like it's supposed to be used.
I will be changing the password from time to time. Check this topic to find the updated password.

1) I think giving such login information in a public place (BYOAC) is public, is not a good idea.
for your convenience, I think it will be better to accept registerd users only, with a personalized account.
this way leeching and abuse will be stongly reduced.
2) you really should set up a chrooted ftp. and change the permission on the Maildirs and logs directory
