Title: Wrapper Help-MAMEWAH
Post by: Demon-Seed on March 08, 2004, 08:30:20 am
Hello,
I have read the info on Howards site and tried and tried to get Mekaw to use exit key to no avail. Can anyone post their configs or email me? I am not sure why it is not working. The emu shows all roms in Mamewah it runs no gui shown. but will not use exit key. When i check the mekaw.cfg file it seems to erase the wrapper settings completely and replaces with th default mekaw config??? anyone hlp?

What are you talking about man?  the wrappers use a lconfig.ini file, not a meka.cfg.  The wrappers also don't alter the emulator's settings in any way.... they launch the emu themselves and close it themselves.

Howard,
Ok maybe I am doing something wrong. I unzip the version 6 into D:\Mastersystem\. It makes 3 folders cfg, list gen, and wrappers and places cmdlaunch6.exe and lconfig.ini inside warppers/cmdlaunch. Now do I leave all these files within the folders or no? I though they had to be in the root of the emulator file. Each wrapper has to have a config I thought? which is by default zinc.cfg. when i read the config is says send rom path=, send exit keys=, etc....... I have not tried with the default unzipped locations, only  moving them to the root of the emu..... I renamed zinc.cfg to mekaw.cfg cause i thought it had to match the emulator u want to run.. when i do this it earses each time u run it.... maybe you can clarify these points for me? that would be Ggggrrrrreeeaaat!! eheh tony the tiger...

thanks
jim

They come in kit form specifically for dk/lazarus..... on other emulators you only need the exe and the lconfig.ini.  The reason that config isn't doing anything is becuase only dk/lazarus reads it.  You need to send your exit key ect in mamewah's command line options.  :)

Hello,
that makes some sense. But how do i send the exit key command in mamewah?

Go into Emulator Settings > Execution Settings and set the Default Options to be whatever commandline options you want...

I honestly can't remember how to specify an exit key, I only use Escape myself.  I know the keycode for 'c' is 67 - you will need that, maybe '-keyexit 67' ??

Hi,
Yea I tried with and without quotes.... this is frustrating. What if I remap my cp to have the C button be ESC? I have tried but every time it says IPAC not reconized I think its the jumper.. how do i set the jumper to program it????? its the older one v2..

I would rather use the wrapper and not touch the ipAC.
Anyone advise??? how to send the exit key

Sendkeys doesn't ring a bell with me.  I really doubt many (if any) people would want to remap the exit key to anything other than escape so sit tight, Howard will put you out of your misery when he reads this I'm sure ;)

Hi,
I wired my IPAC and by default the button I want to use is C. None are wired to ESC>>>>> I hope Howard can save the day!

-keyx ## for keyboard keys

-butx ## for joystick scancodes.

I didn't realize the command line options were undocumented.  I'll have to get on that.

Q: how do u use wrappers when an emu is GUI only? Like BlissJX (Intellevision)? where u load the gui then select load rom from a list?

You have to use the keypress simulator... but I'll be honest with ya, it's horribly outdated and probably won't work.  It's best to find an emu that takes command line options.
