I’m sure you could use a butter knife to cut your own!

That’s a bad issue with the button mapping.

But a fix MAY be coming!
From A1U on Facebook :
One of our legendary mentors, the pioneer pro-fighting gamer, Seth Killian, is a lefty who played his fight stick cross-handed. It was pretty amazing but not something most won’t or can’t play this way so..
We hear you loud and clear regarding Super PAC-MAN and will be rolling out a patch for anyone who wants to use either fire button so people can enjoy playing Galaga and Galaxian on this cabinet. We expect the software to be ready by end of next week with a simple step-by-step instruction on how to update your machine via micro usb cable. Thank you for all the honest and constructive criticism.
Oh, btw, as an extra bonus, we are working on a follow up patch that will be able to access dip switch settings and other options shortly after the fire button patch. Party on and be excellent to each other!

I read that.
But it does not address:
super pac-man - speed buttons on both sides
dig dug - pump on both sides
pacmania - jump on both sides
pac-land - missing jump on left, since they mapped the movement to both the buttons on left, and jump button to right.

i have contacted john d, about becoming a beta tester for them, and doing Q&A for them.
i hope they respond.

pac-land was wrong also, it used buttons for left and right movement, not a joystick, and had jump buttons on both sides.

Yeah, it should be easy enough to move you over from the promotions department, right? :-)

i don't want any machines or anything else.
i hate promotional and advertising work. i only like testing and playing.
i wouldn't be any good at it, since almost all my posts don't recommend buying them.

Yeah but there's no pizza slice out of the side..... that's the whole point of doing a Super-Pac.
-
They don't give a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about doing anything right.
Jerks line up to buy them anyways.

they did for star wars, burgertime, nba jam, and now for
sega golden axe darkstalker.

You mean the 4 player Burgertime?
Yeah. They ---smurfing--- nailed Burgertime. My mistake.

the dual joysticks were for karate champ.
the only issue was they didn't have a 4 way restrictor gate for the joystick,
which they sent out later.

They only forgot the proper controls. The most important part.
Do you even listen to yourself?

it can be played with an 8 way joystick.
i have no problem playing 4 way games, with sticks like that. not really a problem,
unless the game is coded wrong, and doesn't ignore the inputs.
they fixed it, so whats the issue.

You are definitely their target market.

You are definitely their target market.
i don't recommend any of their games out of the box.
(haven't played star wars or nba jam)
they all need to be modded to be played properly.
casual gamers don't know and don't care about issues, like 4-way and 8-way.
only hardcore gamers want arcade quality sticks, buttons, and trackballs.
that's why i've modded all my machines, except the ms pac-man barcade.

So which opinion do you hold today? It is hard to keep track.

i am an old timer, so playing wih broken joysticks, or subpar ones was part of the
arcade experience for me.
i had no idea back then that there was a difference in 4/8 way joysticks. (although 2 directional,
and diagonal ones on qbert i knew).
so i got used to making do with whatever there was.
at home, i have a custom 8 way arcade stick, i use for playing arcade games on the xbox.
so even pac games, etc, work.
there's no contradiction for me.
when i buy an arcade 1up, i expect there to be issues, sure i could get use to them,
but if i'm serious about playing a specific game, i mod the controls. otherwise if its
something i don't bother about, its fine as is.
if i was a pro at burgertime (which i'm not), maybe it would bother me.
but i'm casual at that game, so an 8 way is fine for it. same with frogger/time pilot,
i'm terrible at frogger, but great at time pilot, so again, the 8 way stick is fine for that.
