found dirty harry on netflix while on that social distancing time.
never saw it.
Now, i'm on the marathon.
these movies in the 70's were pretty good story wise considering today's special effects.
raiders and ET was my speed back in the day though.
it struck me that the Scorpio actor was a right proper nut job.
imdb tells me he really didn't go anywhere but guest spots his career.
actually i'm a clint eastwood fan since good, bad, and the ugly.
did he not have the best nutjobs in his movies back in the day or was it he was just his straight dry demeanor that made everyone else seem crazy?
i'm looking for older movies with mainstream actors i missed with proper nutjobs as villians back in the day.

You want a total nut job? Try Dennis Hopper as 'Frank' in Blue Velvet. "Snifffff, oooooh you're like me" :dizzy:
-
Or, you can get a double whammy of bats..t evil with Hopper and Brando in Apocalypse Now.

The same could be said of Martin Sheens character. Send a crazy to take care of a crazy. Blah blah blah.
I have to say my favorite 'crazy' person in a 70s movie would have to be Martin Scorsese's part as the Passenger Watching Silhouette in Taxi Driver.
-
I never saw apocalypse now or Bluevelvet.
-
My favorite nut job (that isn't pure evil), is Michael Douglas' character from "Falling Down." 90's movie, i believe.

"Warriors, come out to play . . . "

Cobra Commander.
He ran a global terrorist organization and never killed anyone.
He demanded unconditional loyalty despite being completely incompetent.
His plans were always crazy and they always failed.
Despite all of this GI Joe, and all of the world governments could never kill him or apprehend him.
I don't remember what happened when Serpantor started competing for power, but he was even more nuts.

You want Nuts, see "One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest"
Me during this pandemic crisis, I've been busy watching related to "End of the World"
2012
Apocalypto
Ancient Aliens series
Deep Impact
Armageddon
etc..

Funny you should mention that. I almost edited my comment to note that just about every character in that movie was nuts. The scary part is that it was perfectly plausible.
-
Christopher Walkin in view to a kill. though he may be cray cray in real life.
-
The bad guy from Passenger 57.
-
Max Cady in Cape Fear is one seriously scary nutjob (both De Niro and Mitchum).
Speaking of Mitchum, it's from the 50s but Harry Powell from Night of the Hunter is a terrifyingly realistic psychopath.
