Title: Scrambled/rolling display
Post by: Mistouch on March 04, 2020, 01:12:56 pm
Originally posted in the groovymame thread, thought I should cross post incase it falls under the monitor thread.

Monitor: Nanao MS8 29FSG
Radeon HD 7570 SFF
Hooked up from the DVI-I to VGA to jpac/jamma

Followed the instruction guide found on geedorah forum to get the driver set with 15khz however at the end where I hit the "enable edid emulation" the image on the Nanao monitor displays a mess which I have no idea why.
New to the arcade hobby so I might be missing something. Image looks to be squished and all scrambled.

On the monitor screen. Looks to be a scrambled version of my desktop screen

I might be behind the curve but I didnt think that you could get a 15 khz signal via a DVI port even with an adapter.  That scrambled signal looks like what I have seen when the signal is not correct.  The card you are using has to have an analog out VGA.  But my information might be outdated since I built my cabinet.

That's a sync issue. It is possible to sync with a dvi-i to vga passive adapter.
