I'm currently converting this picture:
into a vectorised version:
I don't have access to AI and I couln't get used to the vector tools in the trial version of PSP8 I downloaded.
Instead I used MS Visio. Mainly because I use it all the time at work so I'm used to all the controls.
Anyway: LMKWYT!
oh, in case you're wondering: the art has no relation to any game. I just like the picture (it's from a comic series I like to read) and I think it would look great as side art or marquee art.

one word, woooouch
you could post this to the vector WIP (http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=13;action=display;threadid=12772) thread
-
Ah, I thought the Vector WIP thread was for 'real' arcade art (as in: from existing cabinets) only?
-
Looking good!

Picture of the progress I'm making. It's a long job especially because I'm not able to work on it as much as I want to.
Here is a picture of the current status:

Next stage:
I'm now focussing on the blade and the hands, this should give an impression what it's going to look like when finishing. After that it's just hilighting and fine-tuning.
-
Okay, hands and blade are done. Finished the outlines of the hair too:

Time to start doing those hilights in the hair and the rest of the dress...
Hints and tips are welcome!
I found that MS Visio and Adobe Illustrator share only one common format: autoCAD or am I missing something?

look's great.
my guess it's that we will see this nice girl as main part of a lots of cabs.

Coming along nicely!

That's looking Great!
It's a lot of fun watching the progress each time :)

New update. Added mor hilights in the hair, adding shades in the clothes.
-
Sweeeet.
Out of curiosity, how many hours have you put into this so far?

I estimate roughly 20 - 24 hours so far. I generally spend 2 hours of time every other day. The shading took me the longest and there is still a few bits to do...
-
Finally the artwork is finished! Well, knowing me, I will keep tinkering with it for a while...
-
Looks awsome. Good work.
-
:o
I think that's all that needs to be said.

Thanks :-)
I'm currently figuring out a good way to convert the image to Adobe Illustrator or any other format that can be re-used for the Vector Library.
-
The artwork is uploaded as EPS file to the vector library:

Thanks Mahuti for helping out!
