I decided to practice turning illustrations into vector art (mainly to give myself an excuse to use Illustrator). I'm currently working on converting a pic of Blue Mary into a vector file.
Original art (http://www.animecritic.com/_temp/bluemary.jpg)
Vector version (http://www.animecritic.com/_temp/bluemary-vector.gif)
I still have more work to do (especially on the hair.. man, it's a pain), but if anyone is interested in the final version, lemme know and I'll post the AI file. I'm hoping to finish it in the next couple days.
Btw, if any of the resident vector art gurus could critique what I've done, that would be helpful. :)

That looks great! I almost could not tell the difference between them.

The only thing I would suggest would be to make the dark colored flesh tone just a little bit lighter. Otherwise it looks very good, nice work!

Nice Work!
Pretty hard to tell the difference between the two.

Finished it. Click here to see the final version (http://www.animecritic.com/_temp/bluemary-vectorfinal.jpg) (JPG, ~70k)
Gah, I didn't realize doing this would take so long. I probably spent half the time on the hair alone...

OMG!
That's awesome! Did you made it all in AI? Where did you learned?! Looks like you're very skilled doin' it!
Any hints for starters and everyday apprenticees? ;D
