Title: My Sanyo EZ20 - Jailbars or burn-in?
Post by: waynefj40 on July 28, 2018, 01:12:18 pm
Hi all,

Had this cabinet dormant for years, just now getting time to clean it up. Always thought a simple cap kit would be enough to get rid of the jailbars.

Make: Nintendo
Model: Vs. Unisystem (Gradius original, SMB board currently loaded)
Monitor: SANYO EZ20

Before I dive into the process of a capping this monitor I want to make sure it's not vertical burn-in. Was reading that if the bars move around on the monitor, it's jailbars - cap it. If they are static, it's burn-in, and a cap kit won't help.

Just need some more experienced eyeballs to let me know which kind of issue I'm dealing with. TIA if you can identify. :D

Looks like jailbars to me. Burn would be visible with monitor off.

Your monitor needs new capacitors.
