Here is my converted Kangaroo cab. I have actually been done with it for a few months now, but I have just gotten around to giving out the link. The webpage needs updated with some character which I just don't have the time to do right now. I am in the middle of designing a new CP to replace the X-Arcade in it currently. The X-Arcade is a well done CP, but it was used as a quick fix as I had 3 days to get this thing up and running for the family thanksgiving and luckily a store in Dublin, Oh (where I work) happened to have a few instock.

It's good to see that you have preserved all the original stuff in case you want to put it all back in again. It all looks very nice and clean. Make sure to post pics when you get the new control panel in. It's too bad the x-arcade wasn't deeper to fill in that empty space. Looks good from the top down view of the panel though. Good work.

Yeah, very nice--you just can't beat full sized complete sideart! It would be cool if you could make a removable kangaroo only panel for when its just being "shown" and the two player useable panel for when its being played.

Awesome, Kangaroo is easily in the ranking for "Best looking cabinet ever" which is why I have a dedicated one in my living room, which I have turned down many trade/sell offers on.
If you keep checking ebay you might find yourself a Kangaroo/Centipede/Arabian/Dig Dug panel (all will fit), that has already been converted to a 2 player layout. That would be perfect in the place of that X-Arcade. You could then sell your X-Arcade off to help pay for the new panel.
One Kangaroo (and other Atari cab tip).
When they silk screen Atari sideart they screen the black on last. That means the black tends to rub off first. If you look closely you should see that most of the imperfections on your sideart will be missing bits of black. You can use a sharpie to touch that up almost perfectly. I did that to my Kangaroo, Battlezone, and Crystal Castles, and got the sideart on all of them looking almost perfect.

I agree with you there Paige. Kangaroo is one of the neater looking cabs in my opinion too.
This conversion will look absolutely super once you've replaced the x-arcade with a real CP.

Thanks for the tips on the touch ups. I will probably start that phase in the next week or so. I will build the new CP once the weather decides to get over 0 around here. I can't bring myself to go out into garage in this cold:)
I also decided to paint the monitor black, but won't do that until I replace the CP since it is holding the glass in place.
