The main new feature is the very elaborate new default skin and setup package which will hopefully make it easier to use and enhance the overall experience. See for more info and screenshots of the new default skin in action here: http://3darcade.mameworld.net/frontend/defaultskin.html

I finally gave it a go, having not used it for a LONG time...
As HC says, awesome :) A vast improvement with the configuration app I have to say, I probably should know better but the old way did put me off a bit. I like the speech synthesis too - great touch...
Now I need to spend some time with the selectionsets & games lists, and maybe a new skin ;)

Thanks MinWah :D
Hehe I only recently started using the cfg utility myself after it has been in there for more then a year and I must confess I actually prefer it now too over directly editing the cfg files. ;)

I have downloaded this latest version and think it's much improved over previous versions. Fantastic looking menus and much more user friendly setup for dopey computer illiterate people like myself. If you haven't downlowded 3D Arcade yet make sure you do.
Well done )p(.

:D
The menus in the skin were done to make it more friendly for ocassional use on desktop pc's as a lot of the users of the fe are mostly interested in it for walking through an arcade now and then. For my I cab I use a very simple skin these days without any of the 3d stuff. In a way I have come full circle and my cab looks again like it did when it was first done years ago :)

Well as you may guess I plan to use my FE on my cab, so I will have a pretty simple looking interface...
But yes, it is really cool to be able to be able to walk around an arcade, hearing all the sounds - even the default carpet is as I remember it :D I'll have 3dArcade setup on my desktop PC for when I want to go for a wander ;)
