I picked up this little dreamcast light gun. I have never seen one of these before and i tried to Google it and cant find another one in existence. The only picture online I was able to find was from the ebay auction I got it from. Anybody see one before?
-
I have one that is similar but I got it years ago at a pawn shop. I have two others gathering dust in storage of a different design. Any makers mark on yours?

Holy ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- ark talk about spamming!!
-
Lol. No makers mark.
-
I think its a Hais DC mini gun.
-
I believe you are correct. Thank you.
Now to test her out. The auction i bought it from says it is not working. They say it lights up but dies not fire on screen. So i am hoping for my sake that they were testing it on a modern tv and just dont know how it works. Another thing I was trying to figure out is if it it a Japanese gun, like the official one that only works with Japanese games which could also be an issue. Hopefully I can fully test it out soon.

No prob, good luck :)

Don't get your panties in a bunch.
I have problems with this tablet and this site. I have complained about it but I guess it isn't one of saint's priorities.
You tested this gun on a crt based screen?
-
Not yet. But im going to try to tomorrow.
-
Fired it up today with no luck. Tested it with death crimson ox, confidential mission, and house of the dead 2. It lights up when the trigger is pulled but not from any other button.
-
Shame :(
Maybe worth opening it up look for any obvious signs?
-
Dumb question, but how old is the tv? As we started racing towards 2000, crts were produced that didn't work with light guns.... flat tubes, different refesh rates, ect....

Not sure got it at goodwill. Probably older than the dreamcast. Wouldn't the buttons still function regardless of the screen though?

Popped it open and noticed 2 wires arent connected to anything. Can't figure out where they go.

That could well be the problem :p
Maybe worth looking online for a schematic or a picture of one opened up?

Did that gun have kick back? Those two wires could be for the motor and was disconnected.
