Title: Discolored 27" Arcade Monitor

Hi.  I bought a new 27" arcade monitor.  It is hooked up with Ultimarc's VGA card and video Amp.  The picture is great except for a patch of green (should be blue on the Windows 98 screen) that sloooowly changes shape and reforms itself.  Is this a degaussing issue and if so is it permanent or fixable?  I would appreciate any advice you could supply.   :)

Yeh, try a manual degaussing coil. Be sure there are no other magnetic fields near the monitor causing the problem like speaker magnets.

When degaussing be sure to keep the coil away from floppy diskettes and hard drives or they will be erased.

To add:
If de-gaussing cures the problem but it keeps returning it suggests the de-gaussing circuit on the monitor is'nt working. On most monitors it is only one component, a small white module containing a thermistor, which powers the coil around the edge of the tube for a short time every time the monitor is turned on.
