I forgot this dropped today. While the game feels more like a glorified homebrew than a full fledged release, I've got to admit that it's pretty fun. I downloaded it for the pc thinking "I'll just try it for a few levels" only to go almost to the end. It's the nes game basically with ultra widescreen, longer levels, more characters and more enemies on the screen at once. The controls feel a bit stiff, which, if you remember the nes games, that's pretty accurate. New bosses and enemies have been added and you'll get one or two new enemy types per level, which keeps it from getting too repetitive. You have a ton of new specials, but I haven't figured out the button combos for them all yet. The spin jump no longer takes away energy, which you'll need when 10 enemies are on the screen at once. It's a small download and it's very fun, so download it and give it a try.

The game is fun. I think these guys were just expecting more or something. It's a nes game basically, and thus it is rather short and there isn't a great deal of variety. So if you are expecting a modern title or a retro-inspired masterpiece look elsewhere. If, on the other hand, you are expecting what a decent sequel would be in the early 90's then that is what you will get. Like I said, it's more like glorified homebrew. I guess nobody read that part.

Yeah, so I fired up Double Dragon 3 on my multicart. Way better than this.
