Playing Golden Tee with a few buddies with thumb only rules meaning that only thumbs to spin the trackball we can play for hours without any issue.
Then upon a full arm swing (palm push) on the trackball, it hangs the compute (cntrl-alt-del or any key sequence doesn't work)
Do you guys think it's a MAME problem, USB problem or main board problem.
We can play for hours but when we bang on the trackball, it freezes immediately.

I can pretty much rule out it being a MAME problem, we've never had a bug report along those lines (and it's a popular title) nor should MAME *ever* lock the machine up to the point where no key sequences will work.

Seems like it could be a HDD issue where it can lock up indefinitely.

When you slam the ball forward, are you shaking the PC at all? Take some hard shots when you are just on your desktop and see if it happens there.
