Title: Windows 10 Resolution with Makvision Arcade Monitor
Post by: mcsizzles on December 30, 2016, 03:01:47 pm
 Build:
I7 2600k
Gtx 570
8 GB DDR 3 Ram
Windows 10
SVGA Makvision 27 in CRT monitor https://shop.xgaming.com/products/27-29-inch-makvision-crt-arcade-monitor

My monitor supports a max resolution of 800x600, anything not supported by the monitor results in a message saying OVER SPECiFICATION. It worked fine when I used an older rig with windows XP, but now I can only get it to work if I boot it up on another monitor first, then plug it into the arcade monitor. My guess is because the boot menu or windows load screen is in too high of resolution/specifications. I have an Arcade VGA card I could use and I think that would do the trick, but i'd love to be able to use my old 570.

Anyone know of a way I can get this to work on the arcade monitor without having to boot it up on another monitor first?

I have the same monitor. Install ultravnc on your mame machine, and then log into it from another Windows box and set the resolution remotely.
