Looks like ordinary PC, probably with some custom parts.

Has anyone tried a touch screen for light gun games? I'm well aware it wouldn't be the same experience I'm sure, but I think it could work ok with some games, it'd just be more similar to mobile gaming. I'm pretty sure Point Blank has an ios game.
In general I'd lean toward purposes that could best utilize a pc and touchscreen, I like the jukebox idea.

can you contact the MAME team about getting the drive dumped at least?
these things are becoming increasingly uncommon as people seem more inclined to destroy them or convert them than preserve the original data.
there's a contact page at http://mamedev.org/contact.html (http://mamedev.org/contact.html) which should get you in touch with somebody who can help with that (don't really have time to give step-by-step advice myself)

why destroy something original and so nice, its probably not gonna run a new version of mame anyway, since it uses an ide harddrive it might be to old

[thread derail]
Mame4droid and a tablet/phablet seems to be the best solution for that. Watched some youtube of guys playing both light gun and positional gun titles by touch and seemed to work very well. Opened up a thread a few days ago about that same topic. I'll be getting an Amazon Fire in Dec probably and giving is a whirl. Really want to play Hammerin' and Point Blank (but don't like the point blank mobile game).

Point Blank (but don't like the point blank mobile game).
What about the DS game?

The DS game is straight. It's pretty much a port, just with some of the info moved onto the top screen. The mobile has a progressive layout with less choice, and the early levels are really ponderous.

I do not know how to connect the drive system or tablet.
There is only a card reader cf
