I got a bunch of mame roms, but alot of them give me errors sayin missing files, i check the .zip and most of the time the files are there that it lists sayin they are not, can anyone help me please?

Also, i know this should be in the software forum, but noone goes there.

They don't?  I would say it's one of the more popular forums.

Have you done an audit on your ROMs, and I don't mean with MAME?  Get ClrMAME (http://www.clrmame.com) and scan your ROMsets.  You'll need a datfile.  Create it from the command line from the MAME directory:

c:\mame > mame.exe -listinfo > mame78.dat

set your ROM and SAMPLE paths and scan them.  It will let you know what you're missing, and how you can fix what you already have (name changes and the like)

I'd suggest using romcenter or clrmame and seeing if your roms are the correct ones too.

Are the roms "outdated".  I mean, sometimes as new versions of MAME come out, sometimes roms are "redumped" thus making the player need to redownload the newer dump(an updated/newer rom set).  In other cases, some roms need their bios files (neogeo roms need the neogeo bios files and so on).  And other cases, some roms need CHD files to run (ie Area 51, Blitz, Wargods, etc).  Hope this helps!

Yeah, make sure you have the rom for the version of mame you are using.

If you use the ClrMAME rebuild feature with the datfile from .36 you can pipe the ROMs to the directory of your choice.  In fact, as an experiment, I did it a couple days ago with a full .78u6 set.

It tells me I'm missing a few ROMs, due to new dumps and ones being taken out.  No biggie, the ones I'm interested in are intact.
