I keep swearing off cutting anything in the basement. The entire basement gets covered with dust that is a PITA to clean up and gets tracked upstairs as well.
But I never seem to get anything done if I have to do it outside or work inside my tiny shed.
I've been wanting to get back to the driving cabs, but change my mind when I think about dragging parts in and out of the basement to test fit and cut them.
I don't want to build out a separate room in the basement.
Anyone have a temporary system to keep all or almost all of the dust out of the rest of the space?

If you can, hang some plastic like you would to make a make shift paint booth. You can mount via scewing a board to ceiling. if you have braces, you can hang the plastic with pressure mount poles to hold it in place.
Also, check harbor freight often, they have these dust collectors (http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=dust+collector) on sale pretty regularly

What kind of dust collection at the tool are you using and what saw(s)?

Set up a tent in the basement and work inside that. Or a screenhouse. You can get a pretty decent sized one around $100. Doesn't need to be tough if you're just going to use it occasionally indoors. I have been toying with the idea of using one in my yard as a paint booth.
